Service Notice: As at 31 Jan 12 - There will be disruption to trains services on the Auckland suburban rail network with full suburban network closure 4 to 6 Feb 12 & 18 to 19 Feb 12 due to ongoing upgrading of the network for electrification.. Buses will be used on all affected train services * Train services in Wellington are currently operating on the Melling, Hutt & Kapiti lines. There are some disruptions to train services on the Johnsonville line with buses replacing some services. Please call Metlink - 0800-701-700 for further information * The Wairarapa Connection is operating between Wellington, Featherston, Woodside, Carterton & Masterton * The Capital Connection train service between Wellington/Otaki/Levin/Palmerston Nth is operating * Overlander train service between Auckland, Hamilton, National Park, Ohakune, Palmerston North & Wellington are operating daily. The Overlander train will operate Hamilton to Wellington & Wellington to Hamilton 4 to 6 Feb 12 & 18 to 19 Feb 12 due to upgrading of the Auckland suburban network. Suburban Commuter Train Services -

Christchurch Suburban train services - There are no suburban commuter passenger train services in Christchurch.
Regional Train Services -

 There is no regular commuter train services from to Auckland to Hamilton or Hamilton to Auckland.  The Overlander train provides one service per day from Auckland to Hamilton and Hamilton to Auckland.

The Capital Connection and The Wairarapa Connection train services are commuter trains, so reservations are not required. Tickets for these trains are available from ticket office - Wellington Railway Station, Masterton Railway Station, Featherston Railway Station and Palmerston North Railway Station or from the respective Train Manager's on the day of travel.

There are no passenger train services - Christchurch to Dunedin, Dunedin to Christchurch, Christchurch to Invercargill, Dunedin to Invercargill, Invercargill to Christchurch, Invercargill to Dunedin, Christchurch to Queenstown, Christchurch to Mt Cook, Queenstown to Mt Cook or Queenstown to Christchurch.

There are no passenger train/rail services to or from - Bay of Islands, Whangarei, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Napier, Hastings, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Nelson, Dunedin, Mt Cook, Westport, Fox or Franz Josef Glaciers, Wanaka, Te Anau, Queenstown or Invercargill.
